Microwave Baked Apples or Red Pears I Ep. 60 I Cooking in the Community Kitchen
INGREDIENTS:
2 Apples or 2 Red Pears
2 Tbls. Brown sugar
1 Tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 Tsp. ground nutmeg
2 tsp. Butter, room temperature
Options: Chopped pecans, ice cream, whipped cream
DIRECTIONS:
Wash apples or pears. CORE leaving the skin intact.
Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and butter together in a bowl.
Spoon half of the mixture into the center of each apple or pear.
Place in a deep microwave safe baking dish and cover.
Microwaves vary, start with 3 1/2-4 minutes, or until tender.
Let apple, or pears rest for 2 minutes before serving.
Top with whipping cream or ice cream.
