Microwave Baked Apples or Red Pears I Ep. 60 I Cooking in the Community Kitchen

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 Apples or 2 Red Pears

  • 2 Tbls. Brown sugar

  • 1 Tsp. ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 Tsp. ground nutmeg

  • 2 tsp. Butter, room temperature

  • Options: Chopped pecans, ice cream, whipped cream

DIRECTIONS:

  • Wash apples or pears. CORE leaving the skin intact.

  • Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and butter together in a bowl.

  • Spoon half of the mixture into the center of each apple or pear.

  • Place in a deep microwave safe baking dish and cover.

  • Microwaves vary, start with 3 1/2-4 minutes, or until tender.

  • Let apple, or pears rest for 2 minutes before serving.

  • Top with whipping cream or ice cream.
